Britain's Oldest Twins Reveal Their Biggest Secrets to Longevity

Lillian “Lil” Cox and Doris Hobday, a pair of 95-year-old identical British twins, “charmed the hearts of people” after sharing their tips and tricks on living a long and happy life, says Joelle Goldstein of celebrity and human interest news platform People. The pair also happens to be the country’s oldest twins. The secret behind their longevity? Having “no sex and plenty of Guinness,” the women said, claiming that these helped them “thrive well into their 90s.”

The twins made their revelation to the talk show hosts of ITV’s “This Morning,” where they were interviewed “over their sudden internet stardom.” Lillian and Doris created social media accounts earlier this summer, which led to the pair becoming a viral sensation. The duo was asked why abstaining from sex helped them attain longevity. Doris stated, “Well, I don’t have a husband.”

Lillian and Doris “weren’t physically engaging in sexual activities,” but it “didn’t mean they weren’t thinking about it,” according to Goldstein.

On September 9, “This Morning hosts” Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield mentioned Lillian and Doris’s adoration for actor Jason Statham. The twins were huge fans of Statham, as stated in a Facebook post. Lillian and Doris even watched “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” the actor’s new movie, in VIP seating. In a video, they raved over Statham’s performance, which was shared to their account, as well as giving a “cheeky review” of the movie.

When the hosts asked their thoughts on Statham, Lillian gushed, “Oh I love him.” Doris added that the actor “is fantastic” and a “nice lad.”

The twins were born in Kings Norton, Birmingham in 1924. At a young age, Lillian and Doris moved to Tipton, where they lived ever since, as shared on their Facebook page. Doris remained childless but was happily married for 65 years. On the other hand, Lillian bore five, and now has 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The sisters live next door to each other and celebrated their 95th birthday on July 20, commemorating their nativity by signing up on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Lillian and Doris earned thousands of followers within two months, as they were known for their charisma, spunk, and sweet interactions. The pair is known to give an inside look of their daily activities, provide a review of Samsung smartphones, and chair a yoga session. Of course, the women are enjoying the attention they receive from social media.
